Winner of the 2009 Whisperings Album of the Year, Set On A Hill (Hillset Records) is the new release from pianist and composer Chad Lawson.


Produced by Grammy Award Winner and founder of Windham Hill Records, Will Ackerman, the album contains 9 original solo piano compositions recorded at Ackerman’s studio in Vermont.


It was while touring in Spain with Julio Iglesias where Chad decided it was time to return to center stage.  After leading a successful jazz trio for many years, being featured from Starbucks to NPR, while also reaching the top 10 on the national jazz charts, Chad was ready to make the album he had always wanted to create; solo piano.

If anyone knows the complete element of solo piano recording and all that it entails, it’s Will Ackerman.  He has mastered his craft of not only his own musicianship, but to those such as George Winston, Michael Hedges, and many others as well.
