After many years of performing with his jazz trio and various artist, it was while touring with
Julio Iglesias that Chad decided it was time to return to his own music, his own voice.
Just announced! The Piano has been named Classical Album of the Year by SoloPiano.com.
Winner of the 2009 Whisperings Album of the Year, Set On A Hill (Hillset Records) is Lawson’s
debut release as solo pianist and composer. Produced by Grammy Award Winner
and founder of Windham Hill Records, Will Ackerman, the album contains nine
original solo piano compositions recorded at Ackerman’s Vermont studio.
Since it’s release, Chad has received high accolades not only with Set on a Hill,
but with his suite releases as well. Summer Suite, Vol 1 (w/ renowned percussionist
Jim Brock) has been nominated for album of the year by Spain’s “Reviews New
Age” 2010. It was also included in Bill Binkelman’s top 20 of 2010.
