POPULAR SHEET MUSIC
As a Steinway artist with multiple #1 releases, Chad Lawson has a different approach to classical music; don’t make it classical. His #1 iTunes release re:piano (2018) pushed the envelope of what the piano sounds like, with an album composed of loops, effects and layers of textured landscapes; all from a piano. Lawson was invited to share his approach to re:piano on NPR’s Weekend Edition with Scott Simon. He has also been featured on CBS Sunday Morning and NPR’s All Things Considered. His solo work has a relaxed, meditative feel that draws on both the sonorities of classical music and the freeform nature of jazz improv.
Chad is the official composer for the Amazon television series, Lore, in addition to the podcast titled the same. His music has also been used for The Walking Dead, Vampire Diaries and Viceland, as well as numerous commercial placements, including clients such as Chevrolet, IBM, Microsoft, Purina, Delta Airlines, USB Financial, Asprey of London and many more.
Lawson’s major label debut solo piano album will be released on Decca Records US (US label for Andrea Bocelli, Max Richter, Lang Lang, Idina Menzel, among many others), and is slated for release this coming fall. Entitled You Finally Knew, the album was recorded at Abbey Road Studios and features 10 new and original compositions.
